Old Fashioned Apple Spice Cake

2 1/4 C Kodiak Cakes Flapjack Mix®
1 1/2 C unsweetened apple sauce
1 1/4 C brown sugar
1/2 C butter (softened)
1/2 C water
2 t pumpkin pie spice
2 large eggs
1 C raisins (optional)
2/3 C chopped nuts (optional)

Beat all ingredients except raisins and nuts with electric mixer on low speed for thirty seconds.  Beat on high speed for three minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.  Stir in raisins and nuts.  Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan.  Bake at 350 F for twenty-five to thirty minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Frost with Maple-Nut Buttercream Frosting or Cream Cheese Frosting.
